Below is an update form the County Commission on the Coosada Parkway resurfacing project:
Over the next few weeks, Midsouth Paving is scheduled to begin Phase II of a planned project to the Coosada Parkway. Phase II consists of an asphalt overlay and thermoplastic striping/ markings to the entire stretch of Coosada Parkway. Phase II of the project is being performed under a federal grant with a required 20% local match.
The County performed Phase I under a local contract and with County forces to harvest the old wearing surface for use as base material on future local projects. The efforts under Phase I of the projects were intended to stretch the project funding and maximize the use of county resources.
