Below is a media release from the Elmore County Economic Development Authority along with pictures and video taken this morning during  the first launch of the American Crappie Trail national tournament being held in Elmore county.

The Elmore County Commission is pleased to have worked with the City of Millbrook and ECEDA to bring this event to our area.

On behalf of the Elmore County Commission I joined Mayor Al Kelley in Millbrook today to welcome teams from more than 15 states fishing in the American Crappie Trail national championship taking place in Elmore county over the next three days.

Weigh-ins will take  place in the parking lot in front of Air Now on Main St in Millbrook stating about 3:00pm this Thursday, Friday  and Saturday.

The Elmore County Commission appreciates being able to work with Mayor Al Kelley, the City of Millbrook and the Elmore County Economic Development Authority to bring this  tournament to our area. Many of these teams came to Elmore county earlier in the week in preparation for this tournament which will have a very positive impact on our local economy.

We welcome these fisherman to our community as they come to enjoy the wonderful fishing opportunities in Elmore County.

This is the work session agenda for the Commission meeting 3-22-2021. The Elmore County Commission meets on the 2nd Floor of the Historic Elmore County Courthouse, downtown Wetumpka. Work Session starts at 5:00 p.m. and Commission meeting soon after, normally about 6:00 p.m.

I appreciate the hard work by friends and members of the Elmore Fire Department as we removed 40 bags of litter from along Ceasarville Road Saturday morning.

Combining our 40 bags with total bags removed Commissioners participating in litter clean-ups from across the county are reporting equals 270 plus bags of litter removed today.

Additional county road  litter picks-up are scheduled in the near future.

We appreciate everyone doing their part to keep Elmore county clean.

County Road litter pick-up planned for this Saturday in District 4 working with Elmore Fire Department to clean Fitzpatrick Road in Elmore with more D-4 pick up days scheduled in the near future.

Below is a Waste Management service alert received by the County Commission office today:

Waste Management’s scheduled residential trash collection for Wednesday will be delayed and for the normal Wednesday route in the Coosada, Millbrook, and Emerald Mountain areas.  All routes affected by the delay should be recovered by close of business Thursday.

Below is a Waste Management service alert received by the County Commission office today:

Waste Management is in the process of completing yesterday’s delayed route and resuming normal activities. Waste Management’s goal is to be caught up with both day’s routes by the close of business Tuesday, but there is a possibility that all of Tuesday’s route may not be completed until early Wednesday.

A Waste Management representative attended the County Commission meeting last night and assured us they are working to empty cans on schedule each week.
