Frontier Spinning Announces Expansion

Frontier Spinning announced today an expansion of their facility on Hwy 9 near Eclectic. This expansion will result in the creation of 18 new jobs.

We appreciate Frontier Spinning for making this additional investment in our County.

The Elmore County Economic Development Authority and Eclectic Industrial Development Board played an important role in making today’s groundbreaking possible. We appreciate Senator Chambliss taking time to join us today.

Frontier Spinning takes bales of raw cotton and polyester and produces a finish product that is used in the manufacturing of a wide range of textile products.

Frontier’s staff were great hosts and allowed us to tour this facility today and I was very impressed with the high-tech machinery being used.

This is what it looks like when people work together to help improve Elmore County.

Bridges Are Next

Now that Millbrook’s resurfacing project on Deatsville Hwy is complete, I wanted to remind all that the County bridge replacement project on Ingram Road will begin Monday May 1, 2017.

This project involves the two bridges on Ingram Road that are closest to Myrick Road, one to the North and one to the South of the Ingram / Myrick Road intersection.

Please watch for road closure and detour signs in this area.

Thanks

This is the meeting agenda for the Commission meeting 4-10-17.

Glad I will be at this weeks meeting and not home in the bed with the Flu like I was during the last Commission meeting. I will be getting a Flu shot next year for sure.

Millbrook Business Park Ground Breaking

Thanks to the City of Millbrook, Mayor Kelly and the City Council, there is a new place of opportunity on the west side of Elmore County where great things can take place.

Today was the ground breaking ceremony for the Millbrook Business Park.

Up until today there has been no similar development to offer businesses as a potential place to locate in Millbrook or on the west side of Elmore County.

The Business Park is located at 2880 Grandview Road and at this point takes in about 67 Acres divided into 10 Sites with additional area available for future development.

The Elmore County Commission had the opportunity to work with the City of Millbrook on this project and I am certain the community will realize the benefits for many years.

We appreciate Senator Chambliss for being with us today, he is always there to support the effort in Elmore County regardless of what is happening.

I also appreciate the efforts of the Elmore County Economic Development Authority and look forward to great things to come.
