This is the work session agenda for the Commission meeting 6-25-18.

The Elmore County Commission meets on the 2nd Floor of the Historic Elmore County Courthouse, downtown Wetumpka. Work Session starts at 5:00 p.m. and Commission meeting soon after normally about 6:00 p.m.

Asphalt crews have started the paving portion of the project this morning.

Road stripping and traffic signal will be in the next phase of this project.

If the weather continues to cooperate the project will remain on schedule.

Elmore County Highway Department personnel are currently on schedule with the upgrades being made to the Kinsley/Grandview Road and Hwy 14 intersections.

Base work at both intersections is being finalized and the paving contractor will be scheduled within the next few weeks.

Traffic signal work will begin as a part of the next phase of this project. Once paving and traffic signal work is complete, the final striping work will commence.

The additional traffic control features will increase the level of safety at both of these intersections. This improvement project is a cooperative effort between the City of Millbrook, ALDOT and the Elmore County Commission.

Countywide Clean up is Today, Saturday June 9th.

Trucks will be at the locations below from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

The pick-up sites are for residents to bring amounts of trash larger than the normal residential trash container will accommodate.

Limbs smaller than four feet and no more than six inches in diameter will be accepted but it is not designed to accept trash or clean-up debris from contractors. Items such as batteries, appliances, oils and gases, paints or thinners will not be accepted.

These are the pick-up sites for this Saturday:
Coosada Post Office
Holtville High School
Elmore County Judicial Complex
CEWSA – Redland Facility
Emerald Mountain Equestrian Center
Kent – Old Highway Department

According to the Elmore County Highway Department Cypress Road in the Deatstville Community that had been closed due to the affects of heavy rain is now open.
