Elmore County Commission Supports Wetumpka’s Response to Storm Damage

Elmore County Commission staff, highway department, county EMA personnel and sheriff’s department supported the City of Wetumpka’s response to this afternoons storm damage.

I arrived at the county emergency operations center soon after the first reports of damage and spent the majority of the afternoon in the heaviest damaged areas along with Commissioner Stubbs and other county personnel.

Responding personnel were from multiple State agencies, the City of Montgomery, Prattville, Tallassee and Millbrook along with most all Elmore county volunteer fire departments, some from Montgomery county along with Autauga County Sheriff department, Autauga EMA personal and Porch Creek Tribal police.

Volunteers that are looking to help with the clean-up efforts in downtown Wetumpka or in the county should contact the Elmore County EMA office at (334) 567-6451 beginning at 8 am Sunday January 20, 2019.  The Elmore County Commission and City of Wetumpka are appreciative of volunteers wanting to assist, but want to ensure coordination to maximize recovery efforts and resources
