In response to the recent tornadoes and severe weather, a Donation Drop Off Location been established on Hwy 14 at the Phoenix building (Former Russell Building) to receive basic items needed by citizens affected by the storms January 3 – January 13 in Autauga, Coosa and Elmore Counties.

Below is information released this afternoon by the County Commission Office concerning warming stations that will be opened:

With extremely low temperatures forecasted throughout Friday and Saturday, the Elmore County EMA has coordinated three Safer Places to be opened as warming stations. The three locations and associated times scheduled to be opened are:

Elmore County Administrative Complex at the Historic Courthouse
100 E Commerce Street, Wetumpka, AL 36092
Open 5 pm Friday evening to 8 am Saturday morning

First Presbyterian Church Wetumpka
100 W. Bridge Street, Wetumpka, AL 35092
Open 8 am Friday morning to 5 pm Friday evening
Open 8 am Saturday morning to 6 pm Saturday evening

Tallassee Police Department – Main Entrance & Lobby
214 Barnett Boulevard, Tallassee, AL 36078
Open 24 hours

County Government Offices Change in Hours of Operation:
In observance of Christmas, Elmore County Government Offices will be closed Friday, December 23, and Monday, December 26, 2022 and will reopen for normal business Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

Joint City / County Collection Center:
The City/ County Collection Facility will be closed Saturday, December 24, 2022 in observation of Christmas and will reopen on Tuesday, December 27, 2022.

Below are two changes in trash pick up and collection facility hours of operation due to the Thanksgiving holiday:

Arrow Disposal Change in Trash Route Pick Up Day

The week of Thanksgiving all routes will be run as scheduled Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Thursday’s route will be run on Friday and Friday’s route will be run on Saturday.

City/County Collections Facility Hours of Operation Change

The Collection Facility will be closed to the public Thursday, November 24 and Saturday, November 26, 2022 and will reopen on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 7:00am.
