This is an update on the bridge replacement project taking place on Ingram Road.
Information provided by Elmore County Engineer Richie Beyer
H&L Construction is working to pour the floor of a concrete box culvert that is replacing one of the two remaining structurally deficient bridges on Ingram Rd.
The Elmore County Commission secured federal funds to replace the two bridges on Ingram Rd through the Montgomery Metropolitan Planning Organization.
This bridge replacement project is the second phase of improvements to Ingram Rd.
Cooperative efforts from the City of Millbrook and the Elmore Water Authority have helped to make this project a reality.

Intergovernmental Partnerships in Elmore County
Information provided by Elmore County Engineer Richie Beyer:
Elmore County seeks ways to partner with all eight of our municipalities to complete a number of projects that benefit the citizens of Elmore County.
One example of a typical project type where the cities and county collaborate is to resurface and preserve city and county streets through the county’s annual paving contracts.
In this partnership, cities and the county maximize their purchasing power by providing contractors larger quantities of work thus reducing costs such as oversight and mobilization.
Each jurisdiction is paying for the cost of its roads through a reimbursable policy adopted by the county years ago.
This year the Town of Deatsville and Town of Elmore are participating with the County to do several projects.

Information provided by Elmore County Engineer Richie Beyer:
Microsurfacing is a cost effective pavement preservation technique designed to extend the life of a road at approximately a quarter of the cost of traditional resurfacing.
This is one of a couple projects that Elmore County is performing in concert with work on some Town of Deatsville and Town of Elmore streets.
Packaging this work together by the towns and county allow all three entities to stretch our resources to accomplish as many improved roads as fiscally possible.
Microsurfacing work is scheduled to be performed Thursday in the Deatsville area.
We appreciate Richie and his staff with the Highway Department
