Elmore County EMA has released the below notice about an opportunity to attend CPR training:

Elmore County Emergency Management Agency is partnering with Haynes Ambulance to host CPR/AED training located at the Elmore County EOC, 8917 US Hwy 231, Wetumpka, AL, on Friday, January 29th at 9:00 AM.

The class will last up to 4 hours and the cost is $8, which will cover the cost of the CPR certification cards.  Interested participants can register by emailing [email protected]. Please include your name, contact number, and email address.  For questions or additional information, you may contact the EMA office at (334) 567-6451.

PLEASE NOTE: Elmore County EMA is making every effort to provide a safe training environment for the students who will be coming into our training room.  Masks will be required to be worn, and we will have these available, along with gloves and hand sanitizer.

Christmas / New Years will  bring changes to normal county government operations.  

County Government Offices:

In observance of Christmas, Elmore County Government Offices will be closed  Thursday, December 24,  and Friday, December 25,  2020 and will reopen for normal business Monday, December 28,  2020.

In observance of New Years,  Elmore County Government Offices will be closed  Thursday,  December 31,  2020 and Friday, January 1,  2021 and will reopen for normal business Monday, January 4,  2021.    

Joint City / County Collection Center:

The City/ County Collection Facility will be closed Thursday, December 24, 2020 in observation of Christmas and will reopen on Saturday, December 26, 2020.

The Collection Facility will also be closed Thursday, December 31, 2020 in observation of New Years Day and will reopen on Saturday, January 2, 2021.  

Change in Waste Management Collection Route Schedule:

Waste Management will not be operating on Friday, December 25th, 2020 due to being closed for Christmas.

Collection routes normally picked up on Friday December 25, 2020 will be delayed one day and will be picked  up on Saturday, December 26, 2020.

The same route delay will apply for the  New Years holiday.

Collection routes normally picked up on Friday, January 1, 2021 will be delayed one day and will be picked  up on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

The week of  Thanksgiving brings changes in County Government Office and Collection Facility hours of operation:

Elmore County Government Offices will close at noon  Wednesday, November 25, 2020 and remain closed through Friday, November 27, 2020 in observation of Thanksgiving with normal hours of operation resuming Monday, November 30, 2020

The City/ County Collection Facility will be closed Thursday, November 26, 2020 in observation of Thanksgiving.  The facility is scheduled to reopen at 7:00am Saturday, November 28, 2020 and will resume normal operations.

State law mandates County Commissioners be sworn-in the second Wednesday after the election which will be Wednesday, November 11, 2020.

Tomorrow I will start my second 4-year term representing citizens of Elmore county District 4. I appreciate the support I receive, I consider it a great honor to serve in this capacity and take the responsibility very serious.

The Elmore County Commission meets on the 2nd Floor of the Historic Elmore County Courthouse, downtown Wetumpka with this meeting starting at 10:00am.

Normally the Commission Work Session starts at 5:00 p.m. and Meeting about 6:00 p.m. but the time was changed for the initial meeting of this newly elected Commission.
